The top two seeds in the NHL Playoffs are heading in different directions so far. The top seed in the Eastern Conference, the New York Rangers, swept the Washington Capitals out of the playoffs, 4-0, in their first-round series. The Capitals showed up with plenty of grit in Game 4, but the Rangers were still able to impose their will in the elimination game, turning a 2-2 tie after two periods into a 4-2 win.
